ETHEL ATKINSON
Ethel ATKINSON, widow of Edward ATKINSON, died at the University hospital at Ann Arbor, at 11:45 Saturday night, where she had been taken on Oct. 29 for treatment.
She was born near Penn, Cass county, Aug. 14, 1880, a daughter of Scott and Maria (WOODRUFF) HESLET. On June 5, 1904 she was married to Mr. ATKINSON, who preceded her in death in 1918. They had lived in Three Rivers during the greater part of their married life, and Mrs. ATKINSON has resided here most of the time since his death.
She has been an active member of the Methodist Protestant church, in all departments, during her residence here, and for many years an active member of the Lady Maccabees.
She possessed a kind and generous nature and made a wide circle of friends.
She is survived by one son, Ward G. ATKINSON and two brothers, Roy and Lyle HESLET, all of Three Rivers; two sisters, Mrs. Bert SHEPHERDSON of Three Rivers, and Mrs. Clyde KNEVELS of Newburg township, Cass county. Two grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at the Haring chapel at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. William Kennedy, former pastor of the local M.P. church officiating. Interment will be made at Riverside cemetery.
