Mottville; Joseph KRASNY, 81, of 11689 Riverside Drive, Mottville, who was a WW II veteran, died Sept. 9, 1997 at his home following a short illness.
He was born March 18, 1916, in Chicago, a son of Joseph and Anna (FRITO) KRASNY. On July 4, 1942, he married Arvilla M. MARZEK in Chicago. In 1949 they moved from Chicago to the Mottville area.
A veteran of WW II, he served with the U.S. Army in China, Burma, India and England and was in the Burma-Ledo Road Campaign involving the Flying Tigers and Merrill's Mauraders.
After being employed for 10 years at Kentrac in Elkhart, Ind., and Diamond T Truck Co in Chicago, he was last employed as maintenance man for the Elks Country Club of Elkhart.
He was a life member of the Ben Shivley Chapter #56 Disabled American Veterans of Three Rivers and past member of the Arthur W. Gouker Post #427 American Legion of Mottville.
Surviving are his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith J. and Marilee KRASNY of Tucson, Ariz.; and one nephew, Kenneth PRACHAL of Tucson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alvin PRACHAL.
Relatives and friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today at the Farrand Funeral Home of White Pigeon. Graveside services are at 11 a.m. (Mich. time) Thursday at the Mottville Township Cemetery with the Rev. Patrick Neff, pastor of the Porter Baptist Church of Jones, officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of Three Rivers or Porter Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
