Stephen’s obituary is published in the Cass City Chronicle, Thursday, May 28, 1953:
Stephen Moore, 73, who came to Elmwood Township at the age of ten years and a few years ago came to Cass City, died early Tuesday in his home following a long illness. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen and Ellen Moore, he was born April 16, 1880, in Genessee County, near Flint. In September, 1905, at Caro, he married Miss Eva Eliza Craft, who died in 1925. On Dec. 23, 1927, he married Mrs. Hazel Silvernail of Cass City.
Surviving, besides his wife, are four sons, Clyde Moore of Saginaw, Stephen Moore of Kingston, Vilas Moore of North Branch and Perry Moore of Middleton, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. John Tuckey of Port Huron and Mrs. Thomas Silvernail of Cass City; one sister, Mrs. Henry Brandon of Pontiac; five step-children, Clarence Silvernail, Paul Silvernail and Mrs. Theron Berry of Saginaw, Norman Silvernail of Big Rapids and Mrs. Noah Cash of Kankakee, Ill., and 22 grandchildren.
The remains will be in the Douglas Funeral Home until noon Friday when they will be taken to the Ellington Church of the Nazarene for funeral services at 2 p.m. Rev. T. C. Riddle, the pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Elkland Cemetery.
