CHASE, Margaret Elizabeth
Of Miller Court in Paw Paw
Passed away from her life on earth to eternity in heaven on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at Lake View Continuing Care Center, Lawton. Margaret was born on April 13, 1917 in North Platte, Nebraska, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Ungles) Tschabold, both of whom precede her in passing. Margaret married John Robert Chase in 1940, and together they raised not only their 4 children, but were also foster parents for a group home. Margaret was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was very involved in all of their activities. She was a creative seamstress, and from 1956 through 1957 was the President of St. James Episcopal Guild of South Bend, Indiana. Margaret is survived by her children, Sandra (Richard) Stoll of Lawrence, Michigan, Robert (Jan) Chase of Saline, Michigan, Edward (Sherry) Chase of College Station, Texas, and daughter-in-law, Donna Chase of Mesquite, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, David and Daniel Stoll, Eliza Chase, John G. Chase, Lorie Cowser, Jeff and Lindsey Chase and Lindsay Valdez; and five great- grandchildren. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John R. Chase on January 26, 1971; son, John E. Chase in February 2005; and a brother, Edward Tschabold. The family will greet friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7 at the Leonard Funeral Home, Lawrence, where the service to honor her memory will take place at 1:30 p.m. with Doctor Nancy Martin Bailey, Chaplain officiating. Burial will follow the service in Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles. Memorials in her memory can be made to the either Lake View Continuing Care Center or to Hospice of Van Buren County.
