Mrs. Dorothy M. SCHELB, Paw Paw Formerly of Cooper and Richland Township, Died Sunday afternoon, August 10, 1997. Dorothy was born June 27, 1917 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Wesley J. and Lucy (MILLER) BALLETT, and had been a lifelong area resident. For many years she was a rural carrier in Richland for the Postal Service. She was a member of the Wickwire Chapter, now the Loyalty Chapter #497 O.E.S.; and the Women’s Auxiliary of the Kalamazoo County Sheriff Department Mounted Division. On June 27, 1935 she was united in marriage to Russell L. SCHELB, who preceded her in death on October 31, 1989 A sister, Nadine KENDALL also preceded her in death. Surviving are 2 daughters and a son, Sharon BODNAR and husband and husband, Charles of Portage, Russell SCHELB Jr. and wife, Lan of Denver, CO, Cheryl REINHOHL and her husband, Dr. Graydon of Paw Paw; 6 grandchildren, Tim (Kseniya) REINHOHL of Portland, OR, Wendy (Dennis) VANTASSELL of Wyoming, MI, Sarah REINHOHL of Paw Paw, Linh MUNROE of Irvine, CA, Billy DAO of Denver, CO, Linda DAO of Longmont, CO; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Barbara (Norm) BEAVER of Kalamazoo, Millicent (William) KOTRBA of Parchment, Janice (Roy) MOYLE of Parchment, many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1:00 Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Interment will follow in East Cooper Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the chapel on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emphysema and TB Association of the American Heart Association of Michigan. source: after August 10, 1007 (submitted by volunteer, no family connection)
