The Detroit Aluminum and Brass Company (DAB), was originally located on Vincent street in Hamtramck Michigan (in the center of Detroit). In 1975 they moved the company HQ location to Stevenson Highway Troy, Michigan (just North of Detroit).
The company was founded by three Jewish brothers; Jerome (J.J.), Harold and "Bud" Frank. It was the only company in the USA to make silver plated engine bearings for the diesel engines which propelled tanks in WWII. The company also manufactured automatic transmission components; clutch packs (friction plates, bands etc.). The company had three factories located in Athens TN, Bellefontaine OH and Vassar, MI.
The company later was purchased by JPI Industries and later went out of business.
My father was the personnel director for the company 30 years.
