Thanks so much for all the info. I have the grave sites etc. In the 1920 census(I have that record)it is the only location that records a place of birth for Frederick and Anna-Frankenstein and Lowitz. I have a naturalization record and it only lists Ger.though I know it was Prussia at the time-the transfer of loyalty was from the emperor at the time. I have written to several places in Germany to try and locate a birth/baptism record with no success. I am searching for these church records in hopes of finding some reference to place of birth/church/parents names. There is no record that I can find for place of birth for William(9 on arrival in 1880).He is buried in NJ but the cemetery has no additional info. I figured he must have been confirmed in Detroit and was hoping there would have been info at the church level-Lutheran(St Stephanus German)
Thanks so much for your interest.
