It's your lucky day. I happen to be going to the Library of Michigan tomorrow! I'd be happy to look through the Detroit directories for your Gearhearts and see if I find anything. I'll be looking through them anyway so it's no trouble. The Detroit directories are also housed at the Burton Collection at the Detroit Main Library on Woodward if that is closer for you. I love going there. Lansing is farther for me but I want to get a copy of my great-grandfather's death certificate from the Department of Community Health. Made a trip to Herman Kiefer in Detroit last year as instructed by the city website to obtain the certificate and, after waiting a couple of hours for my number to be called, I was told they didn't keep records much older than 1970 there anymore. Gee, thanks! Lol!
