I suggest that you wait a few more weeks, when the Michigan Death Certificates, from 1920 to 1952, will be available online for free on www.familysearch.org. Volunteers finished indexing and arbitrating them in December and copies of the actual death certs will allow you to do a complete search no matter where the person died in Michigan.
