I live in the UK and am currently carrying out research for a biography I am writing, with plans in place for publication during 2014/15. The subject of the biography died by his own hand at Detroit in 1915, an alcoholic and a morphine addict. During the period c1910-1915 I am quite certain that he would have spent regular periods in police custody in Detroit and is likely to show up regularly in court records. As I am based in the UK I attempt to avoid phoning the US where possible, but have been unable to locate an email address for the Wayne County Circuit Court. Is anybody aware of the existence of circuit court records for the period in question, and whether these are indexed and easily accessible? Many thanks.
