Found interesting ship's manifest:

Four passengers:

Hickstein, Elizabeth, 3

for all four says: Nationality=Cuba, Race=Cuban, last permanent residence, Ceballos, Cuba. Also says all, except Elizabeth, can read/write/speak Spanish

Second manifest:

Passenger info typed but a lot of handwritten notes apparently from sometime afterwards.

Adolfo, 46, occupation=mer, nationality=German, living in Cuba 18 years
Gertrudis, 45, nationality=German, living in Cuba 11 years
children Federico, 8 & Elizabeth 5 yrs 6 months, shown as having Cuban nationality but crossed out by hand and "German" written in its place
Manifest says all 4 headed for Washington DC.

Handwritten notes for Adolfo: looks like applied for citizenship & a notation if made dated 4/6/1930
Handwritten notes for Gertrude: looks like I 404 issued Baltimore 11/20?/44"; another notation that could be citizenship application 11/7/44. Something else written, hard to read, might say: ME.B Insp

There must be a great story here to find out how a girl from Ontario is found married to a German on a ship from Havana to the FL Keys and headed to Washington DC!!
