First I would find them on the censuses to see how long they were married. This info appears on the 1900 and 1910 censuses. If they were alive for the 1930 census, the age at first marriage should appear on that census. Knowing how long will help narrow down your search.
The Mormon church (LDS) has microfilmed the marriage registers for Wayne County. You can order the films through your local Mormon Family History Center (FHC). If you live in the Metro Detroit area, the Westland Branch of the LDS has many of the Wayne county films on indefinite loan. If I remember correctly, the marriages are posted by towns/townships. If they lived outside of Detroit, that would make you search a little easier. If they lived in Detroit, the marriages may be by ward or district. I am not sure about this since it has been a while since I looked at the films.
