Do you know your grandfather's mother's name? I find on the SS death index Guy Kyser b. 6/16/1909 d. Apr 1971 Branch county MI. I'm not sure what record you have that gives his father's name as Axel, but I think it's possible his father was Orin Axel Kyser. The 1910 census has Oren A Kyser in Branch county MI, age 51 NY, wife Caroline 46 IL, Earnest 24 IL, Pauline 21 IL, Lina 19 IL, Jacob V 15 IL, Cynthia V 16 IL (twins?), Effie M 11 IL, Duane B 9 MI, Theodore 5 MI, Aldene G 10 months old. The last child is a son, and given that the census was taken in April 1910, it would make him born about June 1909, the same birth info on Guy's SS death index. Perhaps the middle inital of G is for Guy. I would advise you to get some documentation to either confirm this or reject it, perhaps his SS application or a birth certificate.

In the 1920 census, there is an entry listed as Oscar Kyser, (altho I think it looks like Oren Kyser), Hillsdale MI , age 60 a widow, listed as brother in law to William Beckwith (or Beckwitte), and his son Aiden? G. Kyser age 10.

In 1880 Branch county MI, Orin 21, is listed as son to Stephen Kyser 52 NY, whose wife is Clarissa 62 (she must be a step mother to Orin), Asa 22 MI, William 18, Mary 15.

In 1860 census is Stephen Kyser 33 NY, wife here is Samantha 27 NY, Sarah Jane 4 MI, Asa 2, Orin 1.

The MI death index shows Samantha died Feb 1868, born in Lockport NY, her mom's name given as Samantha Town.
