Classification: Query
According to my information:
Mooersville, Twsp. 43, Ranges 28-29-30-31-32. Ranges 29-32 were surveyed by James McBride in 1856, while Twsp.43, Range 28 was surveyed by O. E. Garrison in 1856.
These five congressional Twsp. were organized as Mooersville Twsp. on June 29, 1882, named in Honor of D. S. Mooers, the owner of the largest farm in this district and also the oldest resident. Twsp. 43, Range 30 was detached Sept. 6, 1887, and organized as Daggett Brook. Twsp. 43, Range 28, (later to be Roosevelt Twsp.) and Twsp. 43, Range 29, (later to be Platte Lake Twsp.) were detached June 9, 1892. The remaining territory, Twsp. 43, Range 32, remained unorganized until 1904, when it became Ft. Ripley Twsp.
Daniel S. Mooers is my gggrandfather.
