And i just do appreciate it for all your help in straightening out everything. This means i have a stray John Behrens to sort out.He has to be related somehow...
Thank you..thank you, a 1000 times.
Carol Berry

I would like information about the Northrups. Eliza Josephine Northrup Flansburg is my great grandmother. I posted a picture of Daniel & Winifred's grave. One of their sons was killed in a car accident, but I didn't get a copy of the paper from the historical society in Brainerd, MN. I live a ways away. Barbranta@yahoo.com the first letter is small but my iPod keeps putting a capital. Do you know if Daniel's father is John and grandfather is Cornell of Ridgefield, Connecticut? I can't find any positive connections. I am making a guess. My grandmother died when mom was born & her dad died when she was 14, so she didn't know any family history. Barb

I'v been working on my Rousseau family brick wall for 15 years with no luck. Now I'm trying a different approach to research but I need your help. I'm trying to piece together Rousseau families in Minnesota and Michigan to find out which families are which.

1940 Minneapolis, Hennepin, MN census

has John Rousseau born about 1878 in Minnesota, white male, widowed and it says in 1935 he was living in Brainerd, Crow Wing.

Does anyone know anything about this John Rousseau from Brainerd?

I have also found a US WW1 Draft Registration Card 1917-1918 for:

John Rousseau born April 15, 1876 and was living in Duluth, MN when he filed. Address was 2609 RR St. Duluth, he was a Laborer for Scott Graff Lumber Company and his nearest relative was Rose Rousseau (I'm guessing his wife)

I have a hunch these may be the same John Rousseau but as of yet I have no proof.

I hope someone here can help me with John Rousseau from Brainerd. If you have any information please let me know.

Thanks,
Delayne

There is an Earl married to an Amanda/Vanda Vanderwerker in Coos they operators on a stock ranch on the 1950 census.
The only reason I ran across this is that my grandmother Mary Elizabeth Burk (johnston) married a E Harold Vanderwerker. I actually have a bank loan card for him in Coos from 1951. I was looking for additional information on my grandmothers life here in Oregon and remembered this.
and then saw your post.
I was raised in East Longmeadow. I am going on memory, but I believe you can find the Redin family living in East Longmeadow in the 1900 census by searching under Redding.
Another tip is that a lot of Swedish immigrants who lived in both East Longmeadow and Vermont were quarry workers. Try Proctor, VT. Lots of the EL quarrymen came from Sweden by way of Portland, CCt.

Julius or Louise are related to me in some distant way. Perhaps Louise's mother was one of the Weidemann sisters or half sisters. Marquart sounds familiar.
Between 1905 and 1916, in city directories, the family of Julius, Louise, Emma, Otto, Antoneta/Antonette and Robert lived at 615 Cottage Street in Merrill, Wisconsin. Another person on list at Merril was Mrs O. Kienietz.
Their address is on a list that came down to me from my great grandmother Auguste Bluwernick Rosentreter, wife of Carl Gustav Rosentreter of Oswego, Clackamas county, Oregon.
Johanna Louise Kemnitz was the mother of the sisters.
Today I heard back from the Merrill Historical Society and they have a Larry and Linda Kreklau in the phone book in Schofield Wisconsin a suburb of Wausau.
I have a large picture of the confirmation class from the Swedish Evangelical Clara Church or Swedish Clara Lutheran Church of Brainerd from about 1911. My uncles Oscar Ernest (Ernie) and John Edward (Ed) Swanson and are on it. I'd love to find one that includes my grandmother, Ellen Swanson. She was born in 1894, so maybe would be in the confirmation class of 1909 or so? Other information about the church would be welcome as well.

Crow Wing County
Researching my great-grandfather, Swan Swanson (Sven Svensson) of Brainerd. Does anyone have info or pictures of the C.M. Patek Furniture store where he worked? he lived there in in the late 1880'til his death in 1906.

He also was in the Swedish Men's Glee Club (Men's Chorus). I have the group picture from 1902; was anyone else's ancestor in that chorus?

I also have 2 photographs taken by Photograhers in Brainerd, MN. One is by JG Wagner and one is by J.D. McCall. The one by J.D. McCall is a photo taken Sept 20, 1890 (for sure) the other I assume is also 1890, but we are still researching the wedding photo.

I read all of your posts and you FOUND what I having been looking for! The H. Gilbert Millisten is our Gulbrand/Gilbert Milsten, 8/12/1856-10/27/1903. No wonder I never found him, the name was totally changed!!We were told he died in St. Paul, but they had no record. Now we know why we couldn't connect!! I have all of the other info you found, but this was the mystery. Maybe we'll get the cert. to see why he died so suddenly, right after he was married, and before birth of only child, Gilbert Jr. 12/23/2903. Thank you for your help!

Mange tak. (Many thanks) Names you supplied for Martin A. ANDERSON's parents confirmed my suspicions so I could find them in the Norwegian handwritten birth, marriage and census records for Enebakk, Akershus on the 'digitalarkivversit. It's an exceptional website and my scant Norwegian vocabulary is growing. Andrew (Andreas) ANDERSEN married Anne Marie HOLMSDATTER Oct. 28, 1852 in Enebakk. Helena CHRISTIANSEN was born Sept. 25, 1860 to Christian LARSEN and Larine LARSDTR. (Lorine Larson) The family appears in the 1875 Norwegian census for Enebakk, farm name Svingen, household 216. I remember my grandma Gertrude ADAMS's brother Tom. He had beautiful eyes. Della was known as Babe. I've found her family on the 1905 WI census for Stubbs, Rusk Cy, and the 1900 Federal census in Big Bend, WI. Louis LaBreche (Sept. 30, 1876-Oct. 14, 1959) is listed in Bruce Catholic Cemetery, WI according to WSGS. I heard Helena worked off her passage as a servant for the PILLSBURY's in MN, but haven't any facts yet.
