It's been difficult to find any informtion on the parents of Mathias J. Kotschevar (1835-1932), despite a full obituary in a Breckenridge, Minnesota paper in 1932.

I believe some of the following people are siblings of Mathias, but others may only be cousins. Their birthdays and the general spelling of their names suggest a sibling relationship. Also, at some point in their lives they all lived in Stearns, Douglas, or Otter Tail counties in Minnesota, and some of them moved later to North Dakota and Canada, as did many of their contemporaries.

2. PETER KOTSCHEVAR, b. 1830, Austria; d. Aft. 1880, Munson Twp., Richmond, Stearns Co., MN.
3. MATHIAS KOTSCHEVAR, b. 10 Feb 1834, Semitsch, Kraine, Austria (now Semic, Kranj, Slovenia); arrived 1874; d. 19 Feb 1932, Breckenridge, Wilkin Co., MN. Also lived in Millerville, Minn.
4. KATHERINE KOTSCHEVAR, b. Jun 1835, Austria; emigration 1874, via New York; d. 20 Nov 1932, Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan, Canada; buried St. Anthony's Cemetery, Lake Lenore.
5. MARY ELIZABETH KOTSCHEVAR, b. 05 Mar 1844, Austria; d. 06 Jun 1935, Wahpeton, Richland Co., ND.
6. JOHN KOTSCHEVAR, b. Abt. 1846, Austria; d. Belford Twp., Richland Co., ND/Wakefield Twp., or possibly Cold Spring, Stearns Co., Minn.
7. MARY KOTSCHEVAR, b. 02 Feb 1847, Austria; d. 05 Feb 1920, Albany, Stearns Co., MN.
8. JACOB KOTSCHEVAR, b. Abt. 1850, Austria; d. 25 May 1938, Wahpeton, Richland Co., ND; buried St. Louis Cemetery, Roulette Co., ND.
