Immigration: The family moved to Mercer County, Pennsylvania in 1865. 1866 William came to Hastings, Dakota county, Minnesota. January 1868 to Douglas county and homesteaded.
Parents: Ira and Charlotte (Raymond) Wheeler. Ira Wheeler was a native of New York State and a shoemaker. Charlotte, a native of Canada, was born January 19, 1810, and was still living in 1902 at age 92.
Spouse: married February 14, 1859 to Catherine A. Clark in Canada. Catherine’s father is a native of Vermont, and her mother was born in Canada of German parents.
Children: (12, 10 still living) Mary A. (T. Weatherhead, farmer) Emma F. (Oliver Hartrman, Fargo, North Dakota), Ira H. (Lena Engfer, living in Carlos twp.) Edgar E., Eva (Gustave Lund in Fargo, ND), Lottie (A. Darch), Stephen, William, Katie J., and Lois E.
