Have you linked them back to where they were from in Norway yet?
I think that this is Ole Magnus's family in Stjørdal, which is a municipality and main parish in Nord Trondelag fylke. Mette Sofie's maiden name was Olsdatter, which basically means her father was Ole. But Parish records or other records, or the Bygdebok for that area might say which farm she was from in Nedre Størdal. Stjørdal and Nedre Størdal are the same place. They didn't move, the parish name changed the spelling a bit.

Here's the digital archives record of their emigration from Trondheim. Their destination was Quebec, and it says they are on the ship the Franklin. At least leaving Norway. Perhaps they went to Liverpool and then changed ships from there? Leaving April 28 1870, although the person registering the information goofed on the kids after Ole Magnus. He gave them all Magnus.

On the 1886 farm census I'm wondering if Vikaunet is the spelling, it is located at farm # 80, with subfarms called Vikaunet, main farm called Vikan or Viken, Værnes is the parish church under the main parish of Stjørdal in the fylke of Nord-Trøndelag. Of course by then the family has moved to America, but it would be a place to start searching in the records for them, or the bygdebok.

Using a search at Google.com looking up Vikaunet or Vikaune, which seems to be the last names adapted by some of the families living there, it's possible to find email addresses for some present day Norwegians who may have roots at that same farm.

You may have had all of this Stjørdal information, but if you need the names and addresses of some lookups volunteer, I could find some for you, those that may have the Bygdeboks for Stjørdal, they should look at farm # 80 first to see if your family is listed there.
Here's one guy. He has the name of an emigrant he is searching for that was on the same ship (date and everything) as Ole Magnus and his family. Perhaps he can help you.
