I hope maybe you can help me a little. As long as my father is dead the Norwegian authorities dont wanna help me. They have only confirmed that he is adopted by my "grandfather", but will not give me the name on my biological grandfather. An old aunt of my father has confirmed for me that he was American. Thats also what my father told me before he died.
You know so many people so maybe, maybe somebody will know anything. I knot that the biolocigal father once wanted to take care of my father, but my grandmother didnt allow him.

My father was born 20.08.46, and his sister is born september 1943. I'm not sure if they have the same father. My grandmothers name is Gurli/ Gulli. I guess her last name then was Sjøstrand. She had 2 sisters. One of them, Ebba , died in Los Angeles 22/5-51. I dont know if she was married or what she died of. She was born 28/1-1920. Maybe somebody can tell?

My grandmother Gurli was born 12/2-1922. She married Edvard Bendixsen and he adopted my father. My great grandmother had a little cafe in Stavanger, Norway during the war. I think my grandmother worked there too. I also know that when my father was a few years old they lived in Sweden for a period.

I dont have much more information, but maybe one of your worldwide mailfriends know something. Its worth a try. i enclose a photo of my father, my father 6 his sister, and a photo of the family.
