Classification: Query
Surnames: NELSON, LEXOW
Andrew NELSON immigrated from Småland, Sweden to St. Paul, MN in 1889, and was employed by the American Hoist & Derrick Company until 1906. He moved to Deer River in 1906; and then to Bovey, Itasca County, MN and engaged in farming and business in that area. Between 1910 - 1918 he was a County Commissioner of Itasca County, MN; Between 1918 - 1922 he was a Deputy Sheriff of Itasca County, MN. He was a member of O.E.S. which I understand was named "Chapter Andy NELSON", after him. He retired to Grand Rapids, Itasca Co., MN and lived there until he died in 1949.

Andrew NELSON married Bertha E. F. LEXOW (divorced or widowed - maiden name unknown) - date and place of marriage unknown. Bertha E. F. LEXOW had two sons: Edward LEXOW and Frederick LEXOW; and she immigrated from Germany to USA. Andrew and Bertha NELSON had three children: Sherman Andrew NELSON, Lucille NELSON and Helmer NELSON.

Need information as to correct year Andrew NELSON and Bertha E. F. LEXOW-NELSON immigrated to USA; need maiden name of Bertha; name of ships, and name of ports from Sweden and Germany to ports in USA.

Any and all information and/or suggestions for finding same will be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance,
Janet A. Nelson
