Surnames: Beebe, Alger, Hanson
Ernest Clinton Beebe and his wife Jesse (Alger) appear in the 1900 census for Ottertail Co. E. C. Beebe was a brother to my great grandmother Mrs Charles M Hanson(Anna Mariah Beebe). A third brother Alanson Beebe disappeared from our Dunn and Barron Co Wis census records by 1880. We think he may have moved to the same area that his brother Ernest moved to in Ottertail Co.

I have some information from Douglas Co historical society that the Algers were civil war veterans from New York via Clinton Co Iowa--the same path that Lathrop Beebe and his family(Alanson, Anna, and Ernest) took after the civil war--except that they settled in Barron Co Wi.

Ernest Clinton was a school teacher who married a former pupil He was about 20 years older than Jesse Alger--41 versus 20 something in 1900. They later moved to Taylors Falls MN and farmed then died. In the 1900 census EC is listed as a farmer--so must have given up teaching by then.

Any information/descendents of the Alger or Beebe family would be very much appreciated.

Russ Hanson
