Antrim, Ireland and John Spallin

My great grandfather was John G. Spallin and he came to Leven Township, Pope county with his new bride, Hannah Morehouse, several days after their marriage on May 22, 1878 in Wakefield, Quebec. They lived in Leven until 1900 when they and their 12 children moved to Alberta, Canada to Homestead. I have always wondered why they left Quebec. John was an Irish immigrant from Burnquarter, County Antrim. Burnquarter is right beside Garryduff and both are just south of Ballymoney, County Antrim. Are there other families from Pope County with origins in that part of Ireland? If so, I would love to exchange information with their descendants. I would also love to exchange information with any families who knew the SPALLIN's.
