WILLET GREENE PASSES AWAY Another old Veteran answers First Roll Call
Willet Greene, One of the old "Vets" and well known to old pioneers inthis, Redwood and Brown counties, died at
the home of his daughter, Mrs Frank Kline north of town, Wednesday September1,. After coming to Minnesota he
spent the greaterpart of his life in Brown county and in the city of Redwood Falls, whee,for over twenty years he was one of the most respected citizens of that place. The funeral was held the following Friday inRedwood Falls, from the M. E, Church, Rev DuBuois officiation. The John S March Post of which he was a loyal member,atttended in a body. Obituary
Mr. Greene was born at Pinckney, N.Y. Sept 9, 1832. When 18 years of age, he came with his family ot Wisconsin,
and at the age of 25 years was wedded to Julia Royce at Dayton, in that State. He enlisted in Co L.1st Wisconsin Cavalry son after being mustered out hetook a claim in Brown county and has since made this state his home. Two sons and three daughters are still living. Mrs Frank Kline, north of this place, Mrs Eva Peck of Minot, N.D. Mrs Lida Clarke of Valleyford, Wash, Omar Greene of Kennon, Wis; and Hugh Greene of Redwood Falls.
