Looking for any decendants of JOHN WALSH of Limerick, Glynn Co Ireland, coming thru New Jersey, then Maryland and finally to Winona Co., Minnesota...about 1850-1855, has
a brother that settle in Carrollton, Carroll County, Maryland, work on the Western Maryland Railroad 1851-1860,
married MARY HOUCK of Carrollton, and raised 12 children
in the Catholic faith, Michael was born 10 Nov 1826 and
married Mary Houck on 20 April 1860 and he died on 26 April
1901 in Carrollton, Md. Story in family goes that John head out West to Minnesota and his decendents were in the government as Senators, another brother named Thomas had gone to Australia and had found a Gold Mine, and Patrick seved in the 1st Md Cav. Regt. and died after the war was over from a fever and he is buried at Richmond National Cemetery.
John was mentioned in Michael's obituary as living in Winona Co, Mn.
Michael and Mary Houck Walsh has a very large family and we have a Reunion every other year...this year's is on 11 Sept 1999 in Hampstead, Carroll County, Md...about 250 of us gather together and share our families stories and histories.
Would be thrilled to share all info with any of John's
grandchildrens...also would be thrilled if you are interested on joining us for the Reunion.
