Joseph Elliot O'leary was born in Kentville,Kings Co.,Nova Scotia Canada. His family moved to Winona, Minnesota abt. 1882. His father was Albert O'Leary b.abt. 1844 in Gaspereau, Kings Co., N.S. and his mother was Jane Schofield b.abt.. 1856 also in Gaspereau, Kings Co.,N.S.
