I have found his gravestone at the St. Benedict Cemetery in Helena Township, Scott County, Minnesota. That is where they lived from 1857-until his death in 1942. Thanks for the tip on the Schwartz/Shwartz location in Bavaria. I did find a town in Bavaria deep in the hills. Seems like a lead I should check out. The census say Bavaria for Joseph Schafler born in abt 1818. I will have to check if there are LDS films or where I can write or find a researcher. I did find a set of twins with the same names in Pfalz, but they died. This is my brick wall. Thanks for the info and encouragement.
