Your query caught my eye as I have referenced the same family on my history, but now I'm wondering if these are the individuals I think they are. The story I have is that Gottlieb remained Gottlieb and that Doris (Dorothea) married a man by the name of August Faerber. I'm not sure what you are referencing in "when he moves south"?

I have the family in Minn in 1860.

MN - Carver - Camden (p106 on original sheet;p3/3 on ancestry.com

Gottlieb 39 from Hannover
Mary 37
Frederick 8
Didrick 7
Doris 5
George 3

I guess I'm trying to determine if I am misusing the ship manifest record or if there is another explanation. Let me know what you think. I have more information if we are talking about the same people :)
