In Minnesota there are censuses available in the years 1885 and 1895. The national census of 1890 was destroyed by fire, if I have that correct. Which is probably the census that would have included them.

I have checked for them on the Minnesota marriage index. Didn't find any John, or Breaders or Broaddus or Broadus that fit.
Blue Earth County did seem to have that time frame in the online index too.

You don't have to fill out the whole name, and you can use the other features to specify which county, bride or groom or either.

I suggest contacting Blue Earth County historical society. It may cost a base fee of $20 or so, not sure, but worth it if they find something.
