Harriet Hovis was married to Silas Corley about 1870. Their
children were Edgar, born 1871, Annie born ?, Mamie Helen
born 1878, Sidney born 1880, Allen born 1883, Mattie born 1885, Melvin born 1892 and Hart born 1895. Information from
the 1900 Carroll County Census Beat 1--Family 197/197. Also
in house was Mirandy Hovis -mother-in-law, born 1834 in NC,
her father and mother born in NC, she had borne 5 children,
and had 3 living at the time. (I have spoken with a W.S.
Corley, who is a descendant of this family-I believe that
he gave me Annie's name, as it did not appear on the census.
Mr. Corley lives in Grenada, MS or did a few years ago.)Good
