My grandmother's father was James Stuart Carothers b. 22 Feb 1835 in Greene Co., Alabama d. 22 June 1894 in Benoit, Bolivar Co., MS but buried "at home" in West Point, Clay Co., MS. His father was James Neely Carothers b. 13 Nov. 1805 in Union District, South Carolina d. 25 May 1891 in Van Vleet, Chickasaw Co., Miss. James Neely was a Presbyterian minister, who served churches in Alabama and Mississippi.
