Funeral services for Joe William Butler, of Wesson, were 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at Strong Hope Baptist Church in Wesson, with burial in Thompson Chapel Cemetery in Copiah County. Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Monday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Butler, 65, died Dec. 11, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Mississippi on Sept. 25, 1945.

He was the owner of Custom Seed Processors in Wesson, and a member of Strong Hope Baptist Church. He was a member of the Mississippi National Guard. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University.

His father, Wiley J. Butler, preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Mitchell Butler; his son, William Brian Butler; his daughters, Jennifer Butler Conway and husband Benjamin, and Carrie Butler Boyd and fiancée Dusty Walker; his brother, David Rae Butler; his sister, Janice Butler Stricklin; his grandchildren, Vance William Conway and Blair Mitchell Boyd; his mother, Laura Rae Armstrong Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
