Jack H. Rice passed away on Monday, July 30, at Mississippi Baptist Medical center. He was born December 2, 1926.

Services will be at First Baptist Church in Raymond Thursday, August 2. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 with service at 11:00am. Graveside services will be at Raymond Cemetery.

He was born in Copiah County and raised in Crystal Springs. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Most of his adult life was spent in Raymond. He retired from Hinds Community College after teaching for 32 years in the refrigeration and air conditioning department. He enjoyed his volunteer work in the ICU at CMMC for 20 years.

He was a longtime deacon and member of Raymond Baptist Church and his Men's Sunday School Class was very special to him. He was a regular attendee at the Tuesday morning Bible Study As long a he was able.

His brother, Gene Rice preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy Holliday Rice; son, Amos Jack Rice (Della), daughter; Penny Rice Oyler (Jack), grandchildren; Jack Lamar Rice (Kim), Thomas Rice (Racheal), Suzanna Rice Reeves (David), and 6 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Raymond or to Son Valley, P.O. Box 406, Canton, Ms 39046.
