I'm responding to those whom requested bio info on Col. Feeney's family background. Since his children died young, he has no direct descendants. Through research I have determined that he is my GGG-Uncle. I believe he was the youngest child of Robert Feeney (b.abt 1782, Ireland, d.abt 1825, Philadelphia, PA) and Ann Anderson (b.8/23/1790, Philadelphia, PA; d. 1/17/1871, Fayetteville, TN) married June 11, 1808. This connection is made by the presence of Ann Feeney in William's household in the 1860 census in DeSoto Cty, MS assuming to be his mother. Ann Feeney is later found in 1870 to be living in Fayetteville, TN and is buried in Fayetteville, TN, where my GGG-Father, Robert P. Feeney b. abt 1812-1814(brother?); and Rosanna B. (Feeney) O'Neal b.abt 1815(sister) lived. I believe she was living in her daughter, Rosanna's (O'Neal) home. These Feeney's all originally had lived at one time just across the state line in Madison Cty, AL around Huntsville in the early days of Alabama statehood (1819) Most of Robert P.'s children were born in Madison Cty also. I'm not sure if there is a family connection with William A. Feeney's wife, Eliz. Miller and Hugh Miller. It would be interesting to research. Please let me know if there is any other information available on Col. William (Anderson?) Feeney.
