I am interested in locating any information on one of my Great Grandfather's siblings. She seems to be a big mystery ! Her name was Rachel North. She was born in 1868 in Onalaska, Wisconsin. She was a daughter of Samuel Wade North,my Great,Great Grandfather.Rachel appears in the 1870 census as Gurtrude.This could be a first or middle name or a misprint.She was Rachel as far as was known . In 1900 she was listed on the census record for Onalaska.She was single and living with her sister-in-law Addie J.North. Eventually they went south to Bond,Miss. to help Addie's husband run his sawmill business. As far as we know,Rachel went too.She may have married in Bond,Miss. or migrated south to La. with her siblings.There is no trace after 1900 that is known.There are stories that my Great Aunt lived with a woman by the name of Gurtrude Russell,after Frances' husband died.
