Funeral Services for MR. BAYGENTS

Funeral rites for JAMES THOMAS BAYGENTS, 89, of Lucedale were held July 27 at 3 p.m. at George County Funeral Home Chapel.

He was a native of Wayne Co., a retired civil service employee and farmer and a member of the Baptist faith. He died July 24, 1997 at the George County Hospital following a short illness.

Survivors include his wife, INA MAE BAYGENTS of Lucedale; two sons, JAMES DAVID (NELL) BAYGENTS of Hattiesburg and JESSIE CLAUDE (LYNA) BAYGENTS of San Antonio, TX.; and two daughters ELIZABETH ANN HENDERSON of Lucedale and LILLIE PEARL FESSENDEN of Chula Vista, Calif.; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Also surviving are two sisters, FRANCIS BUSBY of Laurel and RUBY SUMMLIN of Amite, LA.; and four brothers, ERASRUS BAYGENTS of Waynesboro, LEONARD BAYGENTS of Jacksonville, FL.; and HENRY LEE BAYGENTS and BODIE BAYGENTS, both of Waynesboro.

Services were conducted by Rev. Ricky Mitchell and Rev. John Stegall. Interment was held in the Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery with George County Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Sid Smith, Buddy Howard, David Short, Gene Smith, Warren Howard and Brian Howard.

Honorary pallbearers were Lew Walzach, Morgan Guthrie, Burk Williams, Johnny West and Lowell Williams.

Jimmie Baygents was a very special person. He was 90 years old and worked in his yard and garden until recently when he had two strokes.)
