I've been researching my Mcvay side for about 4 years now and am having the darndest time with the McVays in Mississippi. The only information I am sure of is that George S McVay and Eunice Deaton were married in 1848 in Itawamba, Mississippi and had Thomas D McVay there 1850. I also believe David Taylor McVay to be a son of theirs but have no idea where he was born. I believe George and his wife died in Arkansas in 1863, and 1860 respectively. I am pretty confident in my information from David Taylor until the present but would love to know more about George S prior to 1848.
