I'm looking for information on my great grandfather, Ben Thornton. His wife Huberta Thompson Thornton was living in Sumrall in 1910 but was a widow. In 1900 they were living in Coffeeville, AL. I don't know if he died in Sumrall or Coffeeville but it had to be between 1900 and 1910. He was born in 1850 in Clarke County. The state does not keep death records before 1912. Can anybody tell me how I can find his death record. The wife eventually moved to Jefferson County, AL and died there. No family members are aware of where he was buried.
