My known line begins with THOMAS COKER married to a widow from Alabama, Margaret Jones. She is recorded as being buried in Vimville,Lauderdale CountyMS. They were the parents of Peyton COKER, has been listed as "Sir" Peyton COKER. He was taught to tan leather by the Indians. Later,? 1830, served as an Indian Scout after the treaty of Dancing Rabbit. His 2nd wife was Cynthia Hall. They had many children and among them a daughter, Mary "Mollie" Ann Catherine COKER. She married Mathias E. Gary Maggard. They were the parents of John Gary Maggard who was my ggf. His daughter, Jessie Maggard 15 dec1890 married Monroe Butler 8 may 1880. They were my grandparents. My grandmother had brothers: Dave, Wes, Charlie and sisters Pauline and Johnnie. Any info would be appreciated. Many of these people I believe to be buried in COKER CHAPEL CEMETERY, LAUDERDALE COUNTY, MS.
