Thanks
I will keep my eye out for any Beard names I run across. I have been contacted by many researchers looking into Leake County so there is a possibility. I have done the surrounding counties and found two more possible three sections of land Scott co and looks like a Lead in Lawrence co. too. No graves though which is the real mystery. The Norreds (Norrod Norwood) and Boon's were among the first settlers to come to Leake county and were there for better than a generation. There has to be some graves somewhere even though not listed in the official cemetery books. I do volunteer photo shoots for findagrave and well know how inaccurate those cemetery books are. Most were updated 20 years ago. I always find the grave if the information given me is correct. Sometimes they are not marked but you just got to ask a lot of questions from the right people and you will find it. I know now like times before I will have to go boots on the ground in Leake County Miss. someday to find them.
In closing, yes the internet is a great place to do research now but, there is a down side you mentioned and that is the accuracy of the records. To many copy from others and take for granted it is correct. This is turn has been passed down.
