I am looking for any information on the EASTERWOOD family who lived in Oktibbeha Co. MS. My greatgrandfather was Charles James (C.J.) Easterwood. He married Viola Caroline Womack in Chickasaw Co., MS on 22 Jan 1871. He served in CSA in 31st Miss Regmt. Inf (Under Col Orr). His father was James Easterwood and his mother was Eunice Norrad. I believe many Easterwoods (brothers, sisters, cousins, etc.) settled in the area near Starkville. Charles James EASTERWOOD had bothers and sisters: Melissa EASTERWOOD, William S. EASTERWOOD, Amanda Maude EASTERWOOD, Nancy G. Veliah EASTERWOOD, John N.M. EASTERWOOD, Isabelia Emily Jane EASTERWOOD, and Edward Henderson EASTERWOOD. Charles James and Viola Caroline EASTERWOOD moved to Lamar Co. TX. But the family apparently remained in MS and moved back and forth between Chickasaw, Oktibbeha, Webster Cos. The EASTERWOOD family frequently owned mills and foundry businesses in the places they lived. Perhaps they did this in Oktibbeha Co. too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will be happy to share what little information I have on the family.
