Peggy - I am seeking info on a relative also named Minnie Reed McCarthy who was born in MS in December of 1879. The only thing we know about her early childhood was that she ended up in Larimer County, Colorado on the 1900 census. She had been adopted by Frank and Eliza Alice Key and was living Eliza A. in Fort Collins. The census does not have a birth place for her father, but does list TN as her mother's birthplace. In June of 1900, she married John McLean Ewing and lived out her days in Gering, Nebraska. Could this possibly be the same Minnie Reed McCarthy you reference as your cousin?
