Malachi Vowell and wife Nancy (Leopard) Vowell moved their family from Carroll Co., GA, to Winston Co., MS, ca. 1851. Their 9 children were: Valentine Vowell, Viney Vowell, Violet Vowell, Vinson Vowell, Vinyard Vowell, Vienna Vowell, Vandiver Vowell, Virginia Vowell, and John Henry Vowell.
