How certain are we that Ferdinand Mills' name was Reuben? I found, on the 1860 census for Jefferson Co., AR (Darysaw Twp.) the following: line 36, dwelling 435, household 685: William F. Mills, age 23, male, Farmer, born in MS, with wife Sarah A. Mills, 22, female, born in MS. With them were two children: Sarah A. Mills, 4, female, born in MS, and William R. Mills, 1, male, born in MS. On the same page (line 20, dwelling 432, household 682) was the family of David Mitchell from GA. Mary Adeline Mills, daughter of William and Anna Mills, married Hiram Reed Mitchell, a son of David Mitchell. I don't know if this relates, but on the U.S. Federal Mortality Schedule for 1860 I found referenced death by pneumonia of Angeline Mills, age 4, and William Mills, 1. The only glitch is the fact that they died in Saline County, AR, some time before June of 1860. The only Mills listed on the 1860 census for Saline Co. were Jesse B. Mills (not married) and James (born c1819 in VA), wife Elizabeth, son Houston, and daughter Elizabeth Mills. What do you think?
