I wonder if the book was written. A very interesting subject on all aspects. Gov Vardaman was a cruel and racist man from many accounts. I would not be surprised if there had been a political alliance between these white caps and Vardaman. These types of groups killed or beat anyone who got of line with what they viewed as proper order or their place. Hopefully the originally poster was able to visit and browse the records of the Vardaman governorship and find what they were looking for.
