I've read a few of the answers given to you. I lived 4 miles from east center dist # 23. born and raised to adult hood there. East Center Church and School are both located East of Kirksville on route P. about 7 miles. not south. the church is still there but the school was torn down in 1968. ross and flossie laird were friends of my folks. the casey's. enumeration record is the number of kids that would be of the age to go to school. as in the enumeration for the 1910-1911 school year at brashear was 120. only 104 of those kids were actually enrolled in school. if his name shows up on a certificate of enumeration it meant he was eligible to go to school. hope this helps
