Nancy Fenstermaker is also my grandmother, though through her daughter, Helen, b. 1855 with James Cook. James and Nancy's marriage was recored in Fairfield, OH on 4 Jan 1854, by Nancy's brother Aaron. The children of James and Nancy appear to be Helen, James, Emma, Lucy, John, and Sarah.

I would appreciate learning the identity of James and Peter Cook's parents and grandparents. Cooks form a rather large haystack, half of it named James.

Helen had a tragic life. She married a Burlingham and moved to Los Angeles. They had seven children, but my great grandfather abandoned her with seven children below the age of 18, for an opera singer. Helen died in the mental hospital in Tacoma, WA in 1910. My grandmother never had a bad word to say about her mother, and not a good one to say about her father.
