Thank you for your input. I have all the information you have here, but again I thank you. I also have a copy of his civil war draft info, which states he was born 1831 in Wilson, Audrain, Mo. So I do have that info. I also have the info of previous Bass. My problem is the connecting person. Doctor Bass Jr of Arkansas could have been his father and Doctor III. But his mother could not have been Francis Eliza Porter, because they were married 5 years after Doctor III was born. But I cannot place Dr Jr in Missouri.
Also Audrain County was not the county when Dr III was born, that was incorporated after he was born.
So unless I can take a trip to MO, I guess I have hit a brick wall and my husband will have to wait longer to have more info about his gggrandfater. I also know that he is buried in Arkansas. His second wife then went back to Mo and remarried.
