I have a question about the transcription of the 1910 Butler County Missouri census. In the historical society transcription, page 189b, Charles Rob**son appears with his wife Cordie and daughter Theta. Is occupation is listed as * * *. In the same record found on Ancestry/Rootsweb he listed as Roberson, Charles A with same wife and daughter. His occupation is clearly listed as Supt of County Schools. What is the explanation for this? Does the transcriber and proofreader know this to be an error or is it an oversight? I know this individual (Roberson) was slick and did not have a college degree but people worked in education in rural areas in the early 1900's with just a high school diploma. Can anyone shed light on this?
