Seeking information on John Green born 1817 in Baden, Germany, died in Cape Girardeau Co., MO.

Would like to know the maiden name of John's first wife, Elizabeth (b. 1824), with whom he had the following children: Matilda b. 1848, Mary b. 1850, John 1852, William b. 1854, James b. 1856, David b. 1858, Sophia b. 1860, James b. 1862, and John b. 1865.

I can't explain the redundancy of the the names John and James, unless the first John (1852) and James (1856) died very young and sons born later (1862 and 1865) were again named James and John.

Did Elizabeth die ca. 1865 with the birth of the second John?

John Sr.'s second marriage was to Cordelia Estes on 24 Jan 1867 in Cape Girardeau Co., MO. Their children were: Asa b. 1868, Fannie b. 1869, George W. b. 1872, Nancy b. 1874, and Andrew b. 1875.

Did Cordelia (b.1841) die ca. 1875 with the birth of Andrew? Who were Cordelia's parents?

John, Sr., had a third wife, Rachel (b. 1842 in MO), listed in the 1880 Whitewater Twp., Cape Co., MO, census, along with a daughter named S. E. who was born that year.

What was Rachel's maiden name?

In the 1900 census I found Andrew (son from John's second marriage to Cordelia Estes) along with his wife Katy, a son James L., and two siblings, Emerson (?) b. 1881 and Bertha b. 1882, both of whom I presume to be children from John's third marriage to Rachel.

I found a John Green buried in the Miller Cemetery (located near Millersville, MO, where the Green family was living in 1870), b. 2 Mar 1817, d. 26 Mar 1917 (but the cemetery surveyor adds: Another record I have shows he died in 1892). There are no other Greens listed in the Miller Cemetery survey.

Because I could not find John Green in the Whitewater Twp., Cape Co., MO, census for either 1900 or 1910, I am inclined to think that 1892 is the more accurate date of death.

Will appreciate receiving any information on this John Green, particularly on his second marriage to Cordelia Estes.
