Am trying to find a "Christmas Cemetery" in Carroll County, Missouri. A short item published in the Carrollton Daily Democrat, Carrollton, MO on Monday, September 8, 1902 (Vol XX no. 238) stated the following: "The body of an old gentleman, by the name of Christmas who died in Sumner, was brought here on the Burlington train; and was taken out to the Christmas graveyard for internment." We believe this "old gentleman" was Harrison Green Christmas B: 1813 in Kentucky who married Nancy Jenkins in Butler County, Kentucky in 1833. They were in Warrick Co, IN on the 1840 and 1850 census; and Pike Co, IN on the 1860 census before moving to Carroll County, Missouri sometime prior to 1870. We have been unable to come up with any info on a "Christmas cemetery" in Carroll County, Missouri. Am hoping someone out there has some info about it in their files. Am thinking it may have been one on a family farm of the Christmas family that was later sold to someone else where upon it became known as the new farm owner's name. Any help would be much appreciated! Gayle
